Beryllium is a gray, strong and lightweight metal in steel that has one of the highest melting points of light metals. It has excellent elastic modulus and thermal conductivity, is non-magnetic and withstands nitric acid concentration. Beryllium is primarily used as an alloying agent in the production of beryllium copper, with over 70% of beryllium in the world being used to produce beryllium copper.
